  • Overview

    We are seeking an Intelligence Planner for International Engagement to support the United States Forces Korea (USFK), Assistant Chief of Staff, J2 (ACofS, J2) JIOC-K. Provide timely intelligence to Commander, USFK and Combined Forces Command, the combined battle staff, and war fighter component commanders.


    The JIOC-K's efforts focus on detecting enemy threats, managing intelligence, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) activities, analyzing enemy actions and information to determine enemy's probable courses of action.


    The overall analytic effort strengthens Defense Intelligence and provides relevant, timely, objective, and cogent all source Defense Intelligence to the Commander and other users, and transforming theater intelligence activities to better leverage the capabilities of the theater and global intelligence communities and safeguard United States personnel and interests within the Korea Theater of Operations (KTO).


    This position offers the following negotiable allowances: relocation package, incentive pay for a two year commitment, annual DODDS school tuition, housing allowance, and relocation allowance pending JIOC-K move from Yongsan to Pyongtaek.



    Tasks that the contractor shall perform include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assist in national and international conferences, meetings, exercises and working groups to prepare, present and defend proposed assessments and/or positions.
    • Coordinate, monitor and integrate intelligence.
    • Identify intelligence information disparities, specify collection requirements to fill the gaps in
    • Develop and project data used to draw conclusions and estimate probabilities based on historical and current collection data.
    • Translate all documents meeting notes, briefing, products from Korean to English and English to Korea; conduct quality review and update translated
    • Coordinate with senior ROK intelligence personnel to provide information for key General/Flag Officers on contentious intelligence topics/issues requiring senior decision making.
    • Coordinate official and non-official memorandums, agreements, and briefing content.
    • Communicate JIOC-K's vision for combined intelligence operations to key ROK intelligence leaders.
    • Attend, synchronization and provide after action reports or meeting minutes for US/ROK Intelligence meeting, briefing and formal ROK engagements.
    • Advise ROK intent and their ability to achieve information sharing and interoperability objectives.
    • Establish and develop ROK points of contact to further information sharing.
    • Assist in developing and coordinating official agreements for intelligence relationships and intelligence sharing authorities.
    • Plan and organize high-level events supporting intelligence activities.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • MUST have a minimum have a Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) test score 3/3 or equivalent in Korea and English. The contractors shall have at least 3 years' experience of translation experience and an excellent command of the English and Korean language with the ability to provide clear and concise oral and written 
    • Level 3 description: MUST understand essentials of all speech, even technical; grasps opinion and inference; reads a variety of prose on unfamiliar subjects that may include opinions and hypothesis; participates effectively in most formal and informal discourse on practical, social, and professional topics within a shared context.
    • Must be a US Citizen.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Education and/or experience in negotiation, team building, and/or conflict resolution.
    • Understands complexity of Korean theater on the worldwide stage.
    • Interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships across echelons, stakeholders, intelligence consumers, intelligence providers, and local leaders.
    • Excellent understanding of Korea and US military customs; professionalism above reproach.
    • Korea experience, particularly in working with/for the FROKA, SROKA, and/or TROKA.

    Clearance Requirements:           

    • Must have active TS/SCI clearance. CI Polygraph eligible.

    Individual contractors serving in hostile areas are authorized by the Contracting Officer, subject to the Theater Commander's policy on the matter to carry Government-issued side arms/weapons and in accordance with USFK contingency conditions clause
